URGENT: Major Streets Study Consultation

Dear HVV Resident

The HVVRA has just become aware of the City’s Major Street Study which would permit the building of 6-storey housing complexes of up to 30 units on “major” streets such as Royal York, Islington, and Dundas. If approved, developers could build from these major streets to the streets behind which would impact the following streets:

Chestnut Hills Parkway
Bromley Cres
Cranleigh Crt
Swindon Rd
Ridgecross Rd
Vancho Cres
Poplar Heights Dr
Nottingham Dr
Canterbury Cres
Edgevalley Dr
Southway Rd
Hartfield Rd
Hartfield Crt
Bell Royal Crt
Lincoln Woods Crt
Courtsfield Cres
Newell Crt
Edenvale Cres

The HVVRA is concerned about these proposed changes in the Official Plan and Zoning By-laws. While we understand, and support, some aspects of intensification that have been put forth by the Expanding Housing Options in Neighbourhoods (EHON) initiative, we feel this new proposal is not in keeping with Humber Valley Village and the surrounding areas.
