The Board is pleased to report that on February 10, 2015 at City of Toronto Council’s first meeting since the election, Ward 4 Councillor John Campbell tabled a revision to an earlier motion he had submitted to Etobicoke York Community Council (EYCC) in mid-January.
The revised motion, which passed on February 11th, clarifies the scope of the Site and Area Specific Policy (SASP) for the established apartment neighbourhood located to the north of Humbertown to include height, density, traffic, infrastructure, rental housing and environment.
The Board is pleased with Councillor Campbell’s revised motion because it directs Staff Planning to include specific and measurable criteria in Phase 2 of the study regarding future development of the established apartment neighbourhood. The inclusion of these elements had been recommended by IBI, the independent planning consultant which conducted Phase 1 of the study and had been strongly endorsed by the HVVRA.
Phase 2 of the SASP will get underway shortly, beginning with Community Consultation expected in March/April, 2015. Councillor Campbell has promised to give residents advance notice of the meetings so residents can provide feedback.
